Services for Patrons with Disabilities: Public Health Library and Informatics

Staff Assistance
Public Health Library and Informatics staff members are available to provide information and assistance as needed to all patrons at the integrated Service Desk located just to the right of the library as you enter through the front doors.

Building Entrances
Due to construction at the School of Public Health, the handicapped-accessible entrance to the SPH II building is temporarily relocating from the NW entrance to the SE entrance loading dock entry, with a temporary ramp.

Elevators
Elevators are located in the West and East corridors of the SPH II building.

Computers
A wheelchair accessible computer is available on the East end of the library.

Navigating the Stacks
Because some aisles between the stacks are narrow, not all materials may be wheelchair accessible. PHLI staff will assist in retrieving any materials requested by patrons with disabilities.

Restrooms
Handicapped-accessible restroom stalls are available in the men’s and women’s restrooms outside the library but on the same floor in SPH II. The men’s restroom is located in the East corridor, and the women’s restroom is located in the West corridor. Additionally, a self-enclosed handicapped-accessible restroom is available next to the women’s restroom.

Handicapped Parking Areas
Due to construction at the School of Public Health, four handicap parking spaces have been moved from the Observatory parking lot to the Markley lot. Temporary entrance to the building is located on the SE loading dock.

Photoduplication Services
PHLI staff members are available to assist with photocopying.

647-FAST
By arrangement with the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities, patrons with disabilities may use the Library's 647-FAST pull and copy service for a nominal photocopying fee. For further information, contact the Office for Students with Disabilities, Rm. G625 Haven Hall, 763-3000.
